Depressing set of poll results from The Argument not just because the overall support for free speech is so low, but because so many people seem to think free speech is something that only people you agree with should have.

NEW: Progressives have a birth rate problem For all the talk of a general fall in births, the drop is overwhelmingly driven by people on the left having fewer kids. By ceding the topic of family and children to the right, progressives risk ushering in a more conservative world.

The US Treasury — one of the architects of the Washington Consensus — is offering to bail out a neoliberal capitalist experiment in order to prove that it works. It doesn't get more ironic than this.

Worth reading. And Anna Louie Sussman has a terrific book out in 2026 in the US and UK on just this subject. The sad truth I learned from her work is most people, regardless of partisanship, are having fewer children then they had hoped for

Wealth has become more concentrated among the top 0.1% - 10% of households. This data is from the Federal Reserve Top 10% hold a whopping 67.4% of all wealth in the US as of the second quarter. Bottom 50% hold 2.5% - mostly in their home.

Allowing private equity to compete with citizens to buy single family homes will go down as one of the worst decisions ever made in the United States’ history.

Republicans are poised to shut down the government. Here’s how they can get my support: 1) Don’t take health care away from 15 million people with Medicaid cuts 2) Don’t increase premiums by 75% for 20 million Americans 3) Don’t don’t move us toward authoritarianism

This is the first day since NPR was founded it has not had federal support. And we're here, strong, vital, and with an audience of millions we will keep on serving, no fees, no paywalls, and across all divisions. We hope you'll support your local stations to serve all America.

Corporate greed is Boeing paying its CEO $18 million for 4 months of work, giving its last CEO a $45 million golden parachute & the CEO before that a $62 million golden parachute, spending $68 billion on stock buybacks & dividends & taking healthcare away from 3,200 machinists.

Democrats are fighting to preserve an Obamacare tax credit. Without it, a 55-year-old couple making $85K would see their premiums more than triple to $24,535.

Crazy premise, I know, but a political party built around the program and rhetoric of these two would poll better than the current Democratic Party.

20 million Americans would see their health care premiums DOUBLE under the Republican spending proposal. Here's how many are in your state.

Tech billionaires plan to get even richer by putting millions of Americans out of work and raising our electric bills by 30% - all for AI. And they frame it all by saying "it's inevitable". The only thing inevitable is that huge concentrations of wealth always result in huge

Medicare for All would save $650 billion and 68,000 lives a year & covers everyone. Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill throws 15 million off healthcare, doubles health premiums for 20 million and causes over 50,000 to die unnecessarily each year. Let’s go.

$20 billion to keep the corrupt government in Argentina open when our government is shutdown, $0 to prevent 15 million Americans from losing healthcare. But America first!
