My dad worked in purchasing at a chemical company for a few years. We got C&ENews delivered to our house and, in high school I would read it when bored. It is what got me interested in chemistry. I am now a chemistry professor. Dear American Chemical Society, please don't break C&EN (Chemical & Engineering News)!

Any Excimer Laser users on Twitter? Where are you getting your gas mixes from? Novagas is still about 10x higher than pre-war prices and I just didn't budget $14,000 every 6 months for laser gas. I need ArF premix (you know, mixed with Neon...from Ukraine)

Just FYI, for all of you rushing to read our paper that was just published last Friday😉. You will have to wait a little longer to see it on the official Applied Optics Journal webpage.

Let the Madness begin: Reber lab annual bracket competition! No knowledge of (or interest in) basketball required, but knowledge of statistics is helpful. Names shaded so you won't be embarrassed by our amazing high scores later in the competition. 😉

Meet Dr. Deborah J. Jackson, the first Black woman to receive a Ph.D. in physics from Stanford University. Her career has spanned the range of electromagnetic phenomena, including the fielding of radio frequency instrumentation for space missions. #womenshistorymonth #physics

Ok, I couldn't resist: Ytterbium doped in Silicon fiber beats Ti:Sapph every time ok, maybe not every time... Ti:Sapphire crystals are prettier than doped fiber. #ChemHaiku #LaserHaiku

Our latest work is published in The Journal of Physical Chemistry as part of the Early-Career and Emerging Researchers Virtual Special Issue! We study the Jahn-Teller and vibrational predissociation dynamics of the NO-CH4 collision complex using infrared spectroscopy and velocity map imaging!

Thanks C&EN (Chemical & Engineering News). It was speaking freely and honestly in that interview, fully in my queerness and blackness. You don't have to live all the hopes of the generation before you, but it is a blessing when you can step into the power they built with you.
