A significant statement, unprecedented in recent history. This is a time for The Queen's closest family to gather by her bedside at Balmoral. An incredibly worrying time for all of those who adore and admire her.

We will not get a running commentary from Buckingham Palace re: The Queen's health, but they have a duty to inform us if there is real concern for her. We will just have to wait until there is another significant development, let's hope for the best but prepare for the worst jic.

It was of historical importance we saw The Queen on Tuesday as she carried out her constitutional duty welcoming the UK's new PM. Liz Truss is the 15th PM to serve during the Queen's reign. The Queen has also served through 14 presidents.

Prince William, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex have arrived at Balmoral. Prince Charles and Princess Anne are already by her side.

Over the past year we have seen The Queen carry out less and less of her public duties because of mobility issues. And yet for the past 70 years, 365 days of the year, she has never failed to open her red boxes to read her important government papers.

When The Queen eventually passes, and hopefully that won't happen anytime soon, her funeral will undoubtedly become the most watched event in history.

The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
