Our joint investigation with The Washington Post found that the food industry pays dozens of “influencer” dietitians to promote its products on social media. Join Caitlin Gilbert at #NICAR24 March 9 in Baltimore, to see the data collection techniques used for this investigation.

We asked ChatGPT to write a public records request in the style of a celebrity in my #NICAR24 class today. Someone said "Oprah Winfrey" & I prompted ChatGPT to write a request in the style of Oprah giving away her favorite things. It didn't disappoint docs.google.com/document/d/1Tn…

For a number of years, five of us ran a fake news awards for The Virginian-Pilot called The Slovenlies, with categories like "best hate mail" and "best picture of a building." The ceremony was at a bar, had a band and an emcee and winners got jello brains. It was glorious.

When Ence Morse started on our team in 2022, I told her "No pressure, but you're our only intern without a Pulitzer" (our other interns: Sahana Jayaraman and, improbably, Sarah Cohen) Fast forward two years later -- finalist status unlocked!!🤩🏆🤩

When weighted to account for the size of medal-winning teams, the D.C. metropolitan area contributed more to the U.S. medal count than any other region. washingtonpost.com/sports/olympic…
