Our joint investigation with The Washington Post found that the food industry pays dozens of “influencer” dietitians to promote its products on social media. Join Caitlin Gilbert at #NICAR24 March 9 in Baltimore, to see the data collection techniques used for this investigation.
The best part of #nicar24 is ofc the Washington Post Data intern reunion, ft the iconic Sahana Jayaraman Greg Morton Susie Webb and crashed by @anu_narayan + fifi the pink
Awwww yesss Caitlin Gilbert is a star! 🌟
Food companies are exploiting "anti-diet" trends to promote sugary and ultra-processed products and fight regulations. My latest with Sasha Chavkin, Caitlin Gilbert and anahad oconnor with The Washington Post. Come for the 🛝📷and stay for the story 👇 theexamination.org/articles/as-ob…
Couldn't be prouder to have worked on to the Rising India, Toxic Tech project, which was just named a Pulitzer finalist!! Such an honor to work w the great Gerry Shih Pranshu Verma Joseph Menn Karishma Mehrotra Anant Gupta Alan Sipress & @anu_narayan pulitzer.org/finalists/staf…
For a number of years, five of us ran a fake news awards for The Virginian-Pilot called The Slovenlies, with categories like "best hate mail" and "best picture of a building." The ceremony was at a bar, had a band and an emcee and winners got jello brains. It was glorious.
When Ence Morse started on our team in 2022, I told her "No pressure, but you're our only intern without a Pulitzer" (our other interns: Sahana Jayaraman and, improbably, Sarah Cohen) Fast forward two years later -- finalist status unlocked!!🤩🏆🤩
The news is out! I’m so excited to work with Washington Post Data this fall!
Tens of thousands of disabled workers in the US are legally paid less than the minimum wage, sometimes less than $1 per hour. Really proud to have partnered with Amanda ‘science fan girl’ Morris (she/her) 🤟🏻🌵 and Jacqueline Alemany for more than 9 months on this three-part investigation👇🏼🧵 washingtonpost.com/wellness/inter…

So our team partnered with Dave Jorgenson (not JD Vance) and did something kind of crazy last week, and now, uh, we've got a LOT of work to do ... (featuring Caitlin Gilbert & Ence Morse): tiktok.com/@washingtonpos…
