Spring time in #Type1Diabetes land 🌼

Cannula No. 4, a new vial of insulin and the first signs of insulin being absorbed with a downward arrow & a value other than High 🙏 #type1diabetes can be so frightening & challenging, 46 yrs in & some days are just 🤷‍♀️😩

I’m so ridiculously pleased with my new clear plastic shoe box insulin pump cannula & cgm storage set up😁 I feel like an apothecary selecting things from a cabinet, I’ve never been so organised! #type1diabetes

Went to bolus a bit late & my hcl pump had beaten me to it 🤯 Little me diagnosed in 1978 could never have imagined anything like this keeping me safe. I know I’m so fortunate to have access to such amazing tech #type1diabetes #hcl 🙏

Ok #type1diabetes let’s have a good day shall we? Now what was that thing I needed to do before I left the house this morning? 🤔 Whatever it was I’m sure it can wait a few hours until I’m back…. Oh no! 🤦‍♀️

Bought a SugarPixel as I’m partially sighted & can’t read my insulin pump screen at night. Really pleased with it, I can see my glucose level & direction arrow in the night without glasses/magnifying glass. So helpful especially if you are visually impaired. #type1diabetes

The amount of headspace days like this take up having to be a #type1diabetes detective 🕵️ is it bolus, cannula, illness? Just as I think my cannula is working my blood sugar does the going ⬇️ only kidding going ⬆️ thing 🤦‍♀️ All change, new cannula now working 🤞🙏

It’s a drop your meal on the floor then have to clean up the mess hypo 🙄 Toast it is then! #type1diabetes

Pouring with rain today, I went into a shop & a person at the door said “you should have an umbrella” I’m on crutches with my leg in a cast. How many arms do they think I have? 😂 🩼 +🩼 + ☂️ = 🤔

I got asked today why I don’t get a car as that would make my life easier. Said I’d had my driving licence revoked due to sight loss. “But surely you can get an adapted car, they can do all sorts these days” 🤦‍♀️

And it’s a very good morning to you too door handle you absolute 🚪 🤬 ! Another swift, unscheduled cannula removal this morning 🤦‍♀️ #type1diabetes
