When you lose someone, the last thing you want to do is navigate unnecessary red tape to grieve. To be with the people you love. To not have to worry about how and when you'll make up a couple of days of school.

Our message in advance of the hateful protests planned for tomorrow: Speak out. Stand up. Spread love. We can’t ever stop fighting for queer and trans kids—and all kids—to feel safe and loved. We won’t. Be safe, friends. #NoSpaceForHate 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Sad day to be a Canadian and watching hate being spewed around the country. I choose love over hate 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ #protecttranskids

Being an inpatient pharmacist is like playing a constant game of Where’s Waldo, but instead of Waldo I’m trying to find an duration plan for an antibiotic or a correct home med list

I feel this. Just yesterday I went to consult on a patient and was asked “are you the wife?” I’ve been mistaken for a dietician, nurse, physio, etc. more times than I’ve been assumed to be the doctor. I brush it off because, society, but yeah it sucks. 2024.

Good news! In #Budget2024 the government announced its intent to permanently expand the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program to include other health professionals working in rural and remote communities, including #pharmacists! This is a big win for pharmacy! (1/2)

I think the most valuable lesson I’ve learned studying ID is: antibiotics are great and necessary but treating the source (e.g., I&D/surgery/managing comorbidities) is essential.

Alberta is on fire. But hey, we have a budget surplus. Albertans are dying without cancer treatment. But hey, we have a budget surplus. Classroom are crowded, and teachers are exhausted. But hey, we have a budget surplus. This is winning in #Alberta. #abpoli

Yes vaccinations work. Excess deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic were clearly due to the virus and the vaccine provided protection. Some adverse effects of course happen with everything but salt and highly processed foods are more dangerous than vaccines. We now need to

Acute care is not OK 🧵 It’s only the beginning of September (as in, respiratory virus season hasn’t even started), and we are already seeing every admitting service over capacity. I worked last night and the waiting room was rarely below 50 patients. /1

"I am on call for admitted patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week because AHS won't pay for a night time doctor. I am burning out and have less energy for my patients in the day."- General Internal Medicine Doctor. Acute care is in crisis. Patients and doctors deserve better.
