At 1915 on Christmas eve BC Children's Hospital I noticed a harried looking family park and rush inside with a sick looking infant. They parked in a pay parking zone, and did not pay. Within 5 minutes, a predatory parking attendant from Impark swooped and and gave a ticket- for 80.00.

So this happened today. We are approved to proceed with a paramedic-led and physician supported study on the use of sedation in non-invasively ventilated pediatric patients in transport. This is the first BC Emergency Health Services Infant Transport Team study.

Looks like this is turning into the real deal. Time to get ready. There’s a whole generation of doctors, nurses, RTs, paramedics etc. who didn’t work through the SARS outbreak. Trust me, it sucked. Take this seriously. This isn’t an “OK Boomer” moment. Don’t repeat our mistakes.

At the request of Kali Barrett, who will be on ICU service in the near future and wanted some pointers in case the new #coronavirus continues to spread across borders, here's some thoughts from an ICU doc who worked through SARS and saw friends get sick. #tweetorial /1

Resus Tonight with Allan & Rob Domhnall O'Dochartaigh Kali Barrett Absolutely. Stay away from aerosol nebs. What’s also different from the original SARS is the frequent use now of high flow nasal cannula. Probably also a great mechanism for spread and would think twice before using outside of a negative pressure isolation room for #coronavirus.

2/2 Paramedics were fully protected during the emergency call. It remains unacceptable that they were not informed of the change in condition prior to the media release.
