By far the funniest thing about Oregon State and Washington State kicking the other Pac-12 schools' asses in court this week is that all 10 of those other universities have law schools — most of them very well regarded. OSU and WSU don't.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but the Arsène Wenger rule won’t result in fewer offside calls. It will result in more VAR-disqualified goals.

When you scroll over the staff photos on the website of the Fred Rogers Institute, the adult pictured is replaced with an image of the same person as a child. And that's how Mister Rogers saw every adult in this world. fredrogersinstitute.org/team

In the future Mountain West droughts are likely to be longer, with more of our water coming from "Snowpocalyptic" winters. But these events appear to be stochastic, thus unpredictable. So we need to let longer-term climate signals inform water management. youtube.com/watch?v=drwXFK…

Not many people will recognize this, but what Andrew is doing here is not a requirement of sci-com, per se, but rather a distinguishing feature of ethically practiced journalism. It’s a step above and beyond.

Today, the founders of Restore Hyper Wellness released a book about the virtuous cycle of building capacity — feel better, do more, feel even better, do even more. I got to help with this project, and I learned so much from Jim and Steve. amazon.com/Restore-Life-C…

Having covered the court system for years, I have deep respect for juries. They generally get it right. But even if you agree that this jury did in fact reach the correct verdict, no American should celebrate today. We should all be deeply sad together that it has come to this.

“You spend a page or two telling us the problem, and then you just take out this baseball bat of optimism.” I loved my chat with the gentle and introspective Bill Weir about his book on climate solutions. upr.org/show/undiscipl…

I had a good chat with @andrewwbrown from Yale Program on Climate Change Communication and MPI-GEA Jena about the ways in which climate shifts have impacted agriculture for thousands of years. (Not a shocker that we can learn a lot from the past!) upr.org/show/undiscipl…
