'All this talk about violence in 'Straw Dogs' (1971) & in some of my other pictures, as if that violence were contributing to the violence of our society. The point is that the violence in us, in all of us, has to be expressed constructively or it will sink us.
I understand the whole 'the ladder of law has no top and no bottom' bit, but this has got to be one of the lowest rungs ever stood upon by a public figure in the process of self-own.
'A director should know everything. He should be at home in a brothel—which is very easy—but he should also be at home in the Stock Exchange—which is a little more difficult. He should know how the Duke of Edinburgh behaves, how a worker or a gangster behaves.'

'OJ Simpson's family released a statement announcing that the former NFL star has died from cancer. Cancer remains one of the top killers in the United States, ranking just ahead of... OJ Simpson.'
I got into a fight with somebody after the OJ verdict. I said that I thought it had been a mistrial and even if he'd been found guilty it would have been a mistrial. They haven't spoken to me since and it has been no great loss. On an unrelated topic, here's Norm MacDonald.
