Been an attending for 4 years now and looking back, why were attendings in med school and residency such psychopaths??

i have glowed down so much in residency it's insane

i overslept 1 time in all of residency and got an attitude from my attending all day & then an email about professionalism 🤡

anytime a program posts their new match class in a composite that has weird picture ratios or even names with the red squiggly line below it i cringe so hard

for years I thought an oncologist was just the doctor they kept on call at all times

jump between last day of residency and first day of attendinghood is jarring but not quite as jarring as the jump from last day of med school to first day of intern year

thinkin abt the time we got a talk on managing loans in medical school nd one of the points was to not buy daily coffee bc it'll add up & now i can say many yrs later........i do not regret the lil treats i needed to get myself through the day every day m1 & m2 fuck off
