SiriusXM NHL Network Radio Mick Kern Clint Malarchuk This was great. I need to get the book. I had Clint as a summer school coach back in about 1987! I am really connecting to some of his story and to Corey Hirsch's! Amazing people and amazing goalies. I can relate to much of their stories.

In fact, the players always did have a choice. The NHL hastily wrote up a policy against one of their own rules. There was no way they could penalize anyone for using different tape.

Riddle me this...the NHL Rulebook 10.1 states that any colour of tape may be used on a hockey stick (except the knob of a goalie stick which must be white) so how does a quick 'policy change' supercede an actual rule without a rule change?
