We need to stop assuming "blowing" is a do or die affair for everyone. Some just genuinely care about the art knowing fully well they won't become billionaires from making music and they're fine with it 'cause they make "good money" elsewhere and they're comfortable.

While music itself is a serious business. To some, it's just an artform to express all kinds of emotions so if money is made while making honest art then it's awesome! If not, it's still all good 'cause what truly matters to them is speaking their truth & leaving a "good legacy".

I personally think artistes should make music however the fvck they want if they have a steady source of income and "blowing" is not exactly a priority. It's important to do what makes you happy and if you're lucky to have a loyal fanbase then keep feeding them content! ✌️ ♥

Been itching to tweet this for a while: I think one of the biggest lies "Non-purists" like to tell themselves is - "Modenine never blew up". Well, he did.

For decades, we've documented our stories through albums. Now the culture is being documented in academia. Honoured to be part of this chapter of Nigerian Hip Hop history. Thank you Tosin Gbogi for writing this important book.

the convos that persist around Naija Hip-Hop <<<< well, a thing I’ve always wanted to point out is, the foundational work that birthed most of current norms/trends, e.g collabo w/other African MCs — were done by names outside mainstream: Fecko, MCskill ThaPreacha, etc.

in addition: only one rapper at that time inspired others to release tapes consistently. MCskill was a “Dump Gawd!” if you know, you know and you can agree or not. 😂

Some people have suggested that my affiliation isn't genuine because I didn't go to America to take photos with them. But, guess what? I was making tapes with the TOHH as early as 2015, and all the proceeds went to charity, including sending free GOHH books all over the world.

Wow, I just realised that my first mixtape was released 15 years ago in February 2011! Time really flies! A big shout-out to Fazillion and LuseaBee. I must have sent that tape out to countless bloggers, but those two put me on NHH and 360nobs. The rest, as they say, is history!

It's audacious for Benfica fans to come to the Bernabéu and boo Vini. Shouldn't Benfica fans be booed to oblivion in this stadium? What are we doing? 🤦🏾‍♂️

This Real Madrid team is the least disciplined I've ever seen. It's no wonder they disliked Xabi, describing him as "too intense".
