Did you know adults are more engaged and effective when they feel valued and their strengths are focused on. I guess adults also work harder for leaders who they trust and know care for them.

5 tips to reduce stress of staff. 1) if asking to meet with them, let them know why. 2) Don't address an issue you have with one person with the whole staff. 3) praise a lot more than you critique 4) less meetings 5) continual encouragement and support

If students aren’t getting enough physical activity, play, & recess, don’t blame them when they get restless, fidgety, & can’t focus in class. Children are active by nature & need to move. Exercise enhances focus, self regulation and brain performance.

Education has always seemed to be focused on fixing teachers. Teachers don’t need to be fixed, but they do need to be supported, encouraged, & appreciated.

This is reprehensible behaviour by the Halifax Regional Centre for Education and Nova Scotia Gov.. Instead of putting time and effort into securing low wage, untrained replacement workers, you should be negotiating a fair deal with @CUPE5047. Our kids and schools deserve to have their education support workers BACK!

I encourage all 9500+ NS Teachers Union members to write the Premier, Education Minister and MLAs to let them know how indispensable and important our @CUPE5047 education workers are to the success of our kids and schools. Schools work because they do! #undervalued #underpaid
