Ford & Lecce are attempting to turn parents against CUPE workers. Did they forget that this predominately women workers group are also parents?

We have CUPE workers working 2 jobs just to make ends meet. If you think them protesting is bad, wait until they start leaning towards their 2nd job and eventually quit this one. If you value their work, then pay them a living wage.

FYI last week one of my students emailed to say that they have COVID & won't return until they're better. They had been maskless the entire semester. I informed admin & asked what's the procedure. Nothing. This is the classroom environment Lecce wants your kids back into.

The approximate annual cost for the raise requested by CUPE is $264m. The $200 per child bribe Lecce recently gave out cost around $365m. The license plate renewal fee brought in approximately $1b each year.

Hahahahaha the government lawyer now talking about how asynchronous learning is bad for students because they are learning alone. Then why will Stephen Lecce only allow students to fulfil the mandatory 2 online credits in asynchronous courses???

On Friday, a student looked unwell. Said they felt dizzy. I felt their forehead & they were burning up. Office wouldn't (or couldn't) measure their temperature. I told the student to go home. They didn't. Kids are coming to school sick & we can't do anything about it.

None of my students were even alive in 1989. I myself was a student. Apparently CUPE's job action is so awful, it took all of us back in time and we collectively lost 11.5 years of school. Lecce must be relieved we don't pick Minister of Education based on merit.
