Another great TIM fluids meeting! Lots of new faces and labs this year, grateful to have you all here. Great experience for the group, including first time for Leah and Taj! Finally, thanks to Glen House Resort for again hosting the meeting, looking forward to 2025!
Measurement in Fluid Mechanics is now available online with instructor resources, including: - Course outlines - Lecture slides - Solutions to problems - Sample labs I've asked McGill Libraries to add it to their collection, and you should ask yours today cambridge.org/9781009343626
Fusion Day wrapped up in Ottawa: Lots of enthusiasm for #fusionenergy and a clear articulation why fusion makes sense for Canada, with representation of all the nuclear stakeholders: CNL | LNC, AECL / EACL, Ontario Power Gen, NRC Canada, and Natural Resources. financialpost.com/globe-newswire…
I had the opportunity to present our group’s work in collaboration with General Fusion as a case study in how researchers—without having a specific background in fusion—can contribute. As we get closer to commercialization, an increasing number of disciplines will be needed.
Last talk from the group at #TSFP13, Dylan Caverly presenting his work on wake breakdown behind polygonal plates!

Excited for tomorrow’s CSME-SCGM Fluid Mechanics webinar, where I’ll be presenting on the Fluid Mechanics of Pulsed Fusion Machines Where: ualberta-ca.zoom.us/s/99807560364 When: 30-Oct-24, 15h00 EDT Grateful to General Fusion and NSERC / CRSNG for funding this collaboration
Meet Anushka Goyal (Anushka Goyal), PhD Candidate at McGill Faculty of Engineering. Anushka specialises in unsteady aerodynamics, with particular interest in experimental fluid dynamics of vortex formation in the McGill Fluid Dynamics Lab Lab and is a Zonta International 2020 Amelia Earhart Scholar #WomenInSTEM
Amazing!! So happy to see Anushka Goyal featured here!
