Throwback Thursday: 1988 - Raw video I shot of the immediate aftermath of a vicious stabbing in the subway system from my days working as a news camera stringer. With subway crime trends such a hot topic in today’s news cycle, a graphic reminder of a different time.

Throwback Thursday - 2004 Sgt McCourt of the Technical Assistance Response Unit (TARU) which developed the forensic video sub group assisting NYPD detectives throughout the 5 boroughs of NYC and beyond. I worked with an incredible team of investigators, the best in the world.

TBT Film chronicled the murder of Jeff Batan in 1978. I investigated this case along with the NYPD Cold Case SQD, as part of a documentary by David Shapiro. Batan, 14, was killed in February 1978. In memory of Jeff and also his sister, art dealer Martina batan who we lost in 2021

A sad day for the NYPD. A funeral for an officer killed is something I’ve unfortunately been present at far too many times. Thoughts and prayers to the Fayaz family and NYPD family. Fidelis ad Mortem.

I’m proud yet humbled I provided expert witness testimony in regard to video in two jury trials. I helped bring justice for 2 victims, Johynita Jordan and Beatrice Kaliku. Thanks to the NYPD & Victoria Levin/Lisa Davis of Michael E. McMahon, my staff, & the brave victims testifying.

Throwback Thursday: 06/30/1992 My NYPD swearing-in. We are a part of Department folklore known as the “midnight class,” due to our swearing-in narrowly navigating NYC’s fiscal budget deadline. (The pieces filmed in daylight were in the morning, at the end of the swearing-in).

A reflection on 9/11. 22 years ago in September 2001, John McEnroe and Lenny Chu of Lenwich visited Ground Zero. They raised a significant sum of charity money for first responders working the pile. I was so exhausted I mistook Johnny Mac for an out-of-town fireman.
