What a day! 🌱 That's a wrap on this year's Climate Law and Governance Day, but most definitely not the end of the discussions surrounding regulatory changes that are needed to facilitiate sustainability initiatives that can take us towards a net-zero future.

Love this energy! Without committing to fossil fuel phaseout, COP28 will be a massive waste of time, energy and emissions. 31 years after UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, States still can't address the elephant in the room? Highlights importance of advisory opinions!

Science tells us that limiting global heating to 1.5°C will be impossible without the phase out of fossil fuels. This was also recognized by a growing & diverse coalition of countries at #COP28. The era of fossil fuels must end – and it must end with justice & equity.

An incredible coalition of champions brought the UN Climate conference to an unequivocal conclusion: the fossil fuel era is ending. The blockers didn't win this one. But we have loopholes we need to fix, and a massive task to shift the wider finance system behind the transition.
