It is totally false to imagine corruption to be in one institution. Corruption is a societal issue that needs to be addressed without making it sectoral. Even saintly politicians are part of the problem. They know who is stealing, they can't keep pontificating forever!

How do we talk localisation of technology and distribute this miniature solar charger in the same meeting? Does it really make sense?

Every poverty is not mainly merely about energy availability. It is also about affordable tariffs that are biased to dealing a blow to the economic conditions of a majority of our people. # Power to the people!"

You will be very heartless to think we have to bleed jobs and still term it a Just Transition. If it takes us to have ghost towns and disceminate local economies, who on earth will call that JUST. Who really?

There is no #JustTransition until workers say it's just. Powerful contribution from comrade Mbulaheni MBODI on the need for honesty in the debate & role of global north. #solidarity #ClimateJustice aje.io/8hs5w9 via Al Jazeera English

No need for theories now. Just Transition should practically make sense in its objectives, processes, pace and benefits to masses of the people of our land. It can't be to please anybody whose aim is MERELY profit at the expense of humanity.

Doing right things right is the right thing to do. Komati decommissioning was not done right. The workers and communities at large are the jury to to whether a transition without the justice aspect happened. They say it is not a Just Transition and I believe them. It was not!

The pace of the Just Transition should be determined sovereingly. No one knows the context and the content of the socio-economic challenges than the countries driving their own Transition.

Watch the quality of social dialogues on social protection, jobs and skills amongst others. We as Labour and civil society should not agree to tick box excercise or top down engagements. We have no business allowing anything to go past without scrutiny.

We will repeat this until it is irritating. We will not bow as trade unions to anybody's altar. Just Transition will never happen if people are not at the centre.

Local government is the coal face of the implementation of Just Transition. Finance is catalyst to the implementation of the same. In the South Africa Pavillion today sitting to listen to Just Transition and climate finance in Local Government.

My last badge exist from COP28. So many expectations were unmet this year, current geopolitics made negotiations so uncertain. There maybe very little gained beyond the operationalisation of the Loss&Damage Fund + texts on strengthening adaptation. The 1.5°C seems far!

Given a chance again, I will still choose people over popularity. I will still respect those who do not see profit(financial benefit)in the suffering of people. I will never edit out the truth about Just Transition. I rather be called a noisemaker!

Mbulaheni MBODI (@mbodimbulaheni) 's Twitter Profile Photo

We need to watch out for the 'hijacked' Transition happening in our watch. If the pace of the Transition has no consideration for people and their socio-economic challenges,we can't even mention Justice in the same sentence of that sham of a Transition.

To act as if renegotiating the Paris Agreement is very problematic. It will be a step away from the commitment by the Global North.

Mbulaheni MBODI (@mbodimbulaheni) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Any policy that gets developed that deepens poverty, unemployment and inequality should not be allowed to see the light of the day. We should be able to appreciate our socio-economic challenges and be working to eliminate those for the betterment of our countries!

According to the Guardian Website, 67% of new oil and gas exploration licences are from US, UK, Canada, Norway and Australia. These countries 'sponsor' Africa away from exploration of the same, yet they do totally opposite. What a combination of cheek and hypocrisy!
