One of the biggest myths is that punishment occurs after conviction. For most, it begins with a police accusation- a suspicion. That commences brutal punishment in jails across the US upon people that are “presumed” innocent under the law.

Never ending punishments aren’t making us safer, but they are cruel and unjust. SB 2333 is a common sense, modest proposal that allows the State take a look at extremely long prison sentences that we’re handed down decades ago. Excited to see the GA take this on.

Kathy was a mentor and chosen family to so many of us. She taught me how to be kind and critical, deliberative and generative, to be deeply rooted in relationship & care with others. The grief of her passing weighs heavy, while her spirit and legacy lives on. I love you Kathy
