Meet Mayra Delalibera, invited researcher on our project at Universidade de Coimbra "This project is great for investigating care trajectories, #EOL preferences and death. I'm grateful to be part of this international team working to improve care for patients and their families."
👏🏻 Great to see the new OECD ➡️ Better Policies for Better Lives Health at Glance highlight end of life care indicators incl. place of death. Pleased our project contributed - cautious with country comparisons as place of death classifications vary. Also good ref. to The Lancet & Libby Sallnow on value of death.
🎉 Delighted Candida Cancelinha, pediatrician and member of our research group Universidade de Coimbra wan the APCP Junior Investigator Award! 🤩 Read some of Candida’s work here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36445514/ pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25854131/ #pedpc #palliativecare ICPCN FMUC - Faculdade de Medicina da U Coimbra iCBR-FMUC

So pleased to see this work out! 🤩 Much needed evidence showing a rise of home death during the pandemic across 23 countries, but in some of them before that too. More home support is needed. Thanks to Silvia Lopes for leading the work, and to European Research Council (ERC) for funding it.
Last Friday, Mayra Armani Delalibera presented her research on Portuguese stakeholders' perspectives on places of #EoL care and death in Portugal at the #ACPC2024 Congress 🔥
The European Commission invited Barbara Gomes to present our project at the 'Innovative Palliative Care for People with Cancer' conference. EOLinPLACE results, showing a growing trend of home deaths, support key recommendations to invest in community-based #palliativecare European Research Council (ERC)
