I fell in love with neurophysiology because of the beautiful biophysical properties of stellate cells pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8395571/ Finally I go back to these cells and put biocytin in them and what a wonderful surprise Stained and imaged by Kristian Moan in Dr. Giulia Quattrocolo lab

Watch neurons fire! In our summer program Carnegie Mellon University Africa , students built a Synfire Chain with the LIF model on Lu.I boards, seeing real spikes live on the oscilloscope. Empowering hands-on neuroscience education in Africa!

In 2013 Dr. Giulia Quattrocolo and I visited Badlands National Park. I uploaded this picture on the community website of the National Geographic and an editor liked it. This was the first thing I published that was liked by an editor and I am very proud of it.

It was great catching up with friends and meeting new people at the FENS regional meeting in Oslo. Nice ceremony at the Rådhuset, the chance to present our work and visit the new dinosaurs

1/3 What happens if one repeatedly retrains a machine on data primarily generated from itself? For example when students use LLMs to write their essays that they then put online. And then profs use LLMs to write a paper on that topic and so on 😎 arxiv.org/abs/2506.20623

While I’m a big fan of new technologies that help us study human biology…there’s still no replacement for animal research! I wrote an article outlining this in Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News genengnews.com/topics/transla…
