England and Wales Cricket Board Criced Cymru / Cricket Wales 🏏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 South Wales Junior Cricket League 🏏 Would anyone like to comment why OUT OF THE ENTIRE ECB-governed areas, only the SWJCL are, from this season onwards, preventing girls from playing ‘a year down’? Why? Makes no sense at all.

Haydn Davies Kidwelly Town CC Tref Cydweli Dafen CC Jnr Section Genuinely have no idea. It seems to be a decision led by Carl Holding (Cricket Wales) for some reason. It was voted by the league clubs during the AGM which was fair enough. However, how many of those clubs have girls playing is unclear. We’ve got a lot and it’s a disaster for us.

Some enjoyed and had fun playing a year down - the whole reason they were there. The ones that aren’t going to go on to pathways and the like. Real shame.
