For people outside the UK wondering why we have sweeping race riots after a landslide election victory for Labour, you would not believe the mainstreaming of anti-immigrant sentiment in BOTH parties before and during the election campaign

What we are witnessing in England is a mixture of a far-right racist riot, pogrom and terrorist insurgency. It has been whipped up by our media and political elites for decades. Some of those decrying this horror played their part in making it happen.

Those believing far right extremism can be defeated by the justice system are, at best, delusional. This is a political problem. A racist British Establishment which delights in finding scapegoats for problems it causes is to blame. They did this. This is on them.

A protester shouted “What about the children of Gaza” during Keir Starmer's Labour party conference speech. He responded: “This guy obviously has a pass from the 2019 conference.” The subtext for those against genocide? “We don’t care about children being bombed like we used to.”

I join UN experts in urging the UK not to misuse counter-terrorism law to ban Palestine Action, which would criminalise legitimate protest by its members and chill free expression, assembly and association

Instead of taking draconian measures to shut down direct action protesters and criminalise anyone who expresses support for their actions, the Government should be taking immediate and unequivocal action to put a stop to Israel’s genocide and end any risk of UK complicity in it.

no one in involved in this in any capacity thinks palestine action are terrorists - the actual question is whether you think destroying civil liberties and democracy is a price worth paying to protect israel's right to murder children, and the entire labour party thinks it is
