The pathological grimness of contemporary development and the total absence of affordable housing in the UK is made even more frustrating by Peter Barber relentlessly showing it doesn't have to be that way. We could have a fairer, more beautiful world. But its a political choice.

You shouldn’t have to buy a house to have a stable, secure home. Build some council houses so that those of us who could never dream of home ownership are able to put down roots in our communities.
