Imagine if you had tons of money, time, intelligence, and interest in identifying top priorities to benefit humanity. Would you focus on the #transmission grid? Let’s hear what Bill Gates thinks. #BEsummit2022 Amy Harder Macro Grid Initiative ACEG
'm learning a ton about the future of rail at the NEMA Rail Electrification Council meeting. I'm embarrassed to admit I wasn't aware that battery electric locomotives, like this one from Wabtec Corporation, are close to or ready for prime time. So cool. The FRA Progress Rail
More learning: whereas transmission industry uses the word "catenary" to describe "the curve of a hanging cable due to its own weight" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catenary), rail industry uses it as "a system of overhead wires used to supply power to a locomotive" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overhead_….)

Couldn't agree more with U.S. Department of Energy's Jay Caspary & CTC Global's Bill White speaking at yesterday's WIRES conference. We need more "right-sized" advanced conductor transmission lines for capacity we may not need today but will definitely need tomorrow: utilitydive.com/news/national-…
Great listen for anyone interested in the future of energy transmission. In Catalyst with Shayle Kann, Activate Lara Pierpoint and Liza B Reed break down how to get more energy on the wires. Canary Media lnkd.in/ehW5aTwM
