Fact is, managers set the tone…and they also set the tolerance. If coaches ā€œchirpā€ at umps, it’s a green light for parents to do the same…or worse!

Mavs! Note that even your actions playing D during batting practice is a reflection on your attitude, work ethic, and overall ā€œgame!ā€ Respect all moments on the Diamond!!!

100% this! Hold yourself accountable to be YOUR best version of YOURSELF! Losing your cool or class is NOT OK, simply because you don’t think they are as bad somebody else on the field. Attitude and body language failures are individual traits that follow you! Get better NOW!

Ok…this is wrong on so many levels, but I’ll address one that seems overlooked… Taking advantage of a low performing player, simply because you can, doesn’t teach proper baseball. Respect the game, the player, and the moment! Get perspective and teach baseball the right way!!

āš¾šŸ„ŽYouth coaches: Never ever argue a call with an umpire for any reason. Period. If you MUST, calmly walk out and ask for an explanation.

Two kids no older than 13 umpiring a 9u game. Parents being nothing but positive. I shouldn’t be in awe but this is more than refreshing. #aboutthekids

Yup yup! Ok to be squared up to give the OF a good target and to enable reaction to bad throw, but once OF makes throw, you should be positioning yourself for a glove-side catch in a 1/2 pivot toward next base. Good stuff here!!!

High school freshman and sophs . Playing JV to get maximum reps is not punishment or disrespectful . You are the future of the program and you need to develop!!!

I believe many parents are getting development backwards. They are spending too much time/effort preparing the path for their child, instead of preparing their child for their path. I get it, no one wants to see their child fail, yet failure is necessary for meaningful growth.

A true team is far more than just a collection of talent. It’s a feeling. It’s a bond. It’s a uniting force of many people in many roles all working towards the same goal as one cohesive unit, having each other’s back. Without that bond, you don’t have a team; you have a roster.
