We think that all memory is stored in the brain. But our study published today in Nature Communications shows that all cells—even kidney cells—can count, detect patterns, store memories, and do so similarly to brain cells. My first (co)corresponding author paper!🧵nature.com/articles/s4146…

immensely grateful to the Tagesspiegel Top 100 Minds in Science for this honor to the Kraushar Lab MPI for Molecular Genetics, my mentors, colleagues, scientific community, friends and family near and far, and Berlin - thank you for becoming home ❤️

THANK YOU Joe Zaki, @ZachTPennington, @dmoralesrodrig, Maddie Bacon, BumJin Ko, Taylor Francisco (She/Her), Alexa LaBanca, Patlapa Sompolpong, Phil Dong, Sophia Lamsifer, @htchen_neuro, Simon Carillo Segura, Zoé Christenson Wick, PhD, Alcino J Silva, Kanaka Rajan, Matt van der Meer, Andre Fenton & Tristan Shuman!

I’m glad to see this masterpiece on astrocyte biology finally out in Nature Neuroscience! Huge congrats to the team Alberto Serrano-Pozo Sudeshna Das, PhD et al 🤩 nature.com/articles/s4159…

Our work describing molecular recording of sequential information by directing a chain of insertions with prime editor in mammalian cells is now published in Nature Chemical Biology here - nature.com/articles/s4158…. Congratulations to Theresa Loveless, Courtney Carlson, and the whole team!

It is finally out! My first Science Magazine paper is online and it does not seem real😃. I am Incredibly happy! Really thanks to all my coauthors and special mention to my incredible supervisor Ivan Đikić for all the support and trust ! 🫶. Science science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Thank you so much for having me, Neuroscience Institute at NYU Langone Health, and for hosting me, Megan Kirchgessner, PhD! I had a great time learning from your amazing faculty. And it was great to be close enough for the Constantinople Lab 🐀 to come show their support!

I’m thrilled to share this story from Joshua Mendell and Jan Erzberger labs, led by postdoc extraordinaire Xiaoqiang Zhu! We showed that in addition to their canonical decoding function, tRNAs play a key role in regulating mRNA stability during translation. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
