I am on an Air Canada airplane beginning my move to NEW YORK CITY. I am doing my PhD in history, studying the history of artificial intelligence, technology, and Toronto. I will be back home often. Thank you for everything.

Technology is only useful in the world that necessitates its use. Cars are only useful in a society designed for the car. “Comfy shoes” depends on asphalt vs. dirt roads. Ask not “what problem does this solve?” Ask rather “what world yields this problem at all?”
