been thinking about this a lot. didn't think it'd actually end like this *tonight,* but the defense has been hanging by a thread since October because of the injury situation, so the margin for error just doesn't exist. and they're making all the errors they can't make. brutal.

now or never for the defense. just can't go down 17. the injuries have been catastrophic but something other than "one of the worst defensive performances in playoff history" feels like a mostly reasonable ask.

inexcusable fuck-up. just can't have it with the game maybe on the line.

welp. was fun while it lasted, which was pretty much exactly up to kickoff of this game.

don't say this often, if ever, but the Lions' coaches straight-up got their asses handed to them in this game, none worse than Glenn

idk man. i always assumed the injuries were eventually gonna be too much, but going out like *that* really belies what a fun, mostly dominant, injury-gods-defying team that was al up until the last 60 minutes. sometimes a great story gets a dogshit ending, i guess.

all i can think as i see the national championship game ads/commercials/whatevers is "thank god we won this thing last year"

Ohio State brings back like ~5 starters *total* next year and currently has a ??? at QB. They'll still be good, because talent, portal, etc., but if they're the betting favorite, it's by default and interesting mostly in the sense that it means the field is wiiiiide fucking open.
