Ofsted: I may be viewing the changes to the Framework simplistically but how does increasing the number of judgement areas decrease the pressure on headteachers that led to the tragic death of Ruth Perry?

New Ofsted proves they haven’t learnt a thing and haven’t changed one bit. The big listen was just a gimmick. With high stakes fake accountability meaning teachers wasting time on things that are not teaching children. More teachers leave. Worse education sector.

This week at NKDC I’ll be meeting with representatives of Anglian Water to scrutinise their decision making across the last 12 months. Here are some of the questions I’ll be asking them. I hope they have some real answers to explain some of their choices.

Very depressing to hear the rhetoric this morning from a from a Labour Home Secretary. which could badly impact victims of modern slavery. Thresholds for evidence of this are so high. It screams pandering to reform, which we know won’t work.

It’s a great time to be out in our town conker picking. Plenty of places in North Hykeham for an adventure out on foot.

A great afternoon spent at Lincs Libraries today as part of #Lincolnbookfestival with a wonderful story time with author Sarah Tagholm. Really engaging and entertaining for our girls. Lots to do at our local library in North Hykeham also.

You can’t just keep adding hats to teachers, and expect them to fill the gap of a system that has been gutted. We’ll keep burning out… Let’s hope the delay does involve actually listening to teachers (and not the same sort of ‘listening’ that Ofsted pretended to do).

Half term break means I’ve brought home the myHappymind conversation cards that we use at Scampton School. Lovely morning chats with my eldest over breakfast. Today we focused on who we’re grateful for and why.

Out with my family tonight giving away hot chocolate, glow sticks and sweets saying hello around The Forum. This Sunday I’ll be joining Alive South for a family event at 3pm at NK - there will be hot dogs, songs and games. Always enjoy bringing the community together!

For UK Parliament Education week, we invited our local MP Sir Edward Leigh to join one of our council meetings at Scampton. It was great opportunity for our children to ask some questions around how our government works, as well as who his favourite PM was. #ukparliamentweek

What a great week at Scampton. We had two brilliant visits this week. Firstly, Sunita joined us for the day to help us explore Hinduism, Indian culture and to break down stereotypes. Lots of great learning and exploring. Incredibly engaging for the whole class.

Last night we were at Lincoln Cathedral representing Hykeham for The Right Worshipful, The Mayor of Lincoln, Cllr Bill Mara’s service in support of SSAFA. A wonderful night with fantastic performances from Cranwell Primary School and The Waddington Military Wives Choir.
