This is most definitely The Way. Similar to what we want to achieve with 3.0 Edge and sensor data. Applies to so many things.

New post on what happens after you add a control plane and local storage for observability: you get 1000x the telemetry when it matters.

Following my post on why observability costs so much, a new post on whether you really need to store all that telemetry. Check it out!

No lie, one of the reasons I started bitdrift is the obscene carbon waste in this area of computing. I have sometimes wondered whether one day we could sell carbon credits.

It's like the bitdrift team wrote down every thing major mobile app teams of the past decade have complained to their infra teams about. And then went and started fixing those gaps, one at a time.
No, not 'like'. That's literally what they are doing. So good.

Very, very excited for this feature launch. Really demonstrates the power of real-time telemetry control. Check it out and give us feedback!

(This one in particular I can't wait to bring to server as well ๐Ÿ˜‰)

Follow up question about touch typing out of curiosity. If you have learned to type with proper technique did you learn (my wife had a required class in high school and thinks it is insane that I did not):

I'm ashamed to say that I never learned how to properly touch type. In my early forties I'm trying to fix that and it is very, very difficult to unlearn decades of bad habits. Someone out there tell me it's worth it!

It doesn't have any particular significance but I just noticed the Envoy docker images have over 1B pulls. That seems like a really big number! Thanks Docker Build Cloud is here! ๐Ÿณ๐Ÿงฑโ˜๏ธ for hosting us!

Excited to share some of the technical details behind the bitdrift ring buffer. This is one of the most technically challenging things I have worked on (and I have worked on a lot of challenging stuff!). Enjoy!
