Here is what molecular motors, kinesins in this example, actually do to microtubules as they walk on them. 😵 Want to know how microtubules can survive in real life ? Have a look at our recent investigation: biorxiv.org/content/early/… Samara Reck-Peterson Christophe Leterrier Laurent Blanchoin

First paper from my lab after entering a new field. Great collaboration with Alan Brown and Susan Dutcher! In this paper we use high-resolution #cryoEM to identify 38 ciliary doublet associated proteins including 33 #microtubule inner proteins (#MIPs) 😎 cell.com/cell/fulltext/…

Pre-print on our latest #PRC2 work, spearheaded by Vignesh Kasinath and supported by many collaborators: Curtis Beck, Poepsel Lab, @malamenteau, Jennifer Kosmatka, Dan Toso at the #BACEM facility, and Marco Faini in the Aebersold Lab in Zurich. #cryoEM x.com/biorxivpreprin…

Pre-print on a novel bacterial nanocompartment by Bobby Digit4L Nichols (Savage Lab lab) and our very own Benjamin LaFrance features a beautiful 2.2 Angstrom-resolution #cryoEM structure of the nanocompartment shell. Check it out! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Inspiring papers from the Scheres and Stark labs showing the amazing potential of cryo-EM. At 1.2 A resolution, even densities for hydrogen atoms are visible! Congrats to Sjors Scheres, Radu Aricescu and Holger Stark. #journalclub doi.org/10.1101/2020.0… doi.org/10.1101/2020.0…

Another wonderful collaboration with Alan Brown and Susan Dutcher. Here we put complementary data together to build the complete structure of two distinct radial spokes on doublet microtubule. It was also a great experience to coordinate with the Vale lab for paper submission.

We are very excited to share our latest work, the high-resolution cryo-EM structure of the ex vivo cortical #microtubules from human parasite #Toxoplasma gondii. This work is in collaboration with David Sibley lab and Alan Brown lab. nature.com/articles/s4146…

Fascinating microtubule structures solved by sub-tomogram averaging using EMAN (Steve Ludtke and Muyuan Chen), imaging in chiulab stanford, segmentation with Segger! Identified tubulin proteins in different arrangements along with other components biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

This Saturday (28 April), the #LHC operators successfully injected 1200 bunches of protons into the machine and collided them, formally marking the start of the LHC’s 2018 physics season: cern.ch/go/TXD9 ALICE Experiment, ATLAS Experiment, @CMSexperiment, LHCb Experiment
