We don’t talk enough about how difficult it is to be a writer AND a reader at the same time. 😵‍💫 Having the mental energy to do both—write your own work while reading others’ projects—is a major challenge!

We grilled some great burgers this weekend, and we nommed on them alongside grilled corn and baked beans. 🤤 I also made a delicious casserole with squash and zucchini from the backyard garden.

📍 Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House in Concord, Massachusetts, definitely my overall favorite of the literary homes we toured in New England because of the quaint feel and original furnishings and artifacts preserved in the home

Happy to announce that my poem "Perish and Live Forever," which first appeared in MEXICANS ON THE MOON, has just won the SF & F Poetry Assn Dwarf Star Award for poetry. This award is for best micro poem of 10 lines or less. Many thanks to members who voted. It is a big honor. Much love!

"That's the power of literature, you know, it can act like little love letters between people who can only explain their feelings by pointing at other people's." One of my favorite lines in ANXIOUS PEOPLE by Fredrik Backman
