Today’s incredible news is exciting on so many levels! As a lab, we use Click chemistry daily & it has transformed our research. When I was a grad student @CarolynBertozzi was the most supportive member of my College of Chemistry committee and a rising female star I looked up to....
Been waiting to see this beautiful work in print from @drcmwoo and Matt Pratt groups. They find that C-terminal cyclic imides (from backbone cyclization of Asn/Gln residues) are natural ligands for the E3 ligase cereblon--thalodimide is a mimic. #PROTACS nature.com/articles/s4158…
Our first preprint is out! Led by Rohith Rajasekaran (Rohith Rajasekaran): “A programmable reaction-diffusion system for spatiotemporal cell signaling circuit design” A visually stunning toolkit to build cellular radios that probe or control cell biology. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Congratulations to post-doc Yen-Li Li for her work on the structure of HIV-1 Vif in complex with human A3G. A fantastic collaboration with Caroline Langley , @nchesarino, @memerman of #FredHutch and Ignacia Echeverria, Caleigh Azumaya, Yifan Cheng of #UCSF. rdcu.be/c5bst
If you're at Stanford and want to hear about and discuss eLife - the journal's new model and broader challenges in science publishing, please come. I look forward to a fun and spirited conversation.
Happy for these two guys who just graduated last week. They started in the lab 2 days apart and finished 1 day apart. Congrats to Franco Faucher and John Bennett. On to many more great things as PhDs.
the lab is recruiting scientists HHMI | Janelia! we are particularly excited about engineering fluorescent proteins and biosensors using high-throughput assays and machine learning. questions? please get in touch!
I’ve successfully defended my PhD thesis! Huge thanks to my incredible advisor, Alice Ting, for the unwavering support, and to all the amazing tinglab members for creating such a fantastic lab environment. I feel so fortunate to have been a part of the tinglab.
