Another great day Birmingham 2022 - watching the morning athletics sessions at the Alexander Stadium at Perry Barr. Good mix of events and commonwealth nations taking part - including the mens 3000 steeplechase and the 4x100 metres relay heats. #B2022Athletics

A treat this morning to be with Matthew Ambler in his parish church. We keep one another company chairing Deanery & Diocesan Synods and on the Board Diocese of Leeds Good to worship and share in word and sacrament together with the faith community at St Barnabas Crosland too.

My prayers, and the prayers of people across the The Church of England and the nation, are with Her Majesty The Queen today. May God’s presence strengthen and comfort Her Majesty, her family, and those who are caring for her at Balmoral.

The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.
