When your first PhD student (Cory Brock) meets a bunch of your current PhD students… and you miss it because one of your kids has covid. #2021 Inspiring to see all these Reformed theologians in one room! (Photo by Israel Guerrero)

Translating a book is such a weird thing. You're not the author, but you try to get under the author's skin, understand the content, context & literary choices. You become a custodian of the text. In form & content, you're trying to become the author, albeit in your own language.

Dr James Eglinton's youngest student (age 7) in an oral presentation argued that "Bavinck was against homework". That's good enough for me.

The Church Forests of Ethiopia, an utterly gorgeous book from cover to cover, by Kieran Dodds - biblical narrative, ecology, theology in context… It’s stunning. (Matthew Baines cameo too!) Maybe we can get you to School of Divinity to speak about it one day?

I was very chuffed to receive this in the post today. I couldn't attend my graduation ceremony in Edinburgh, but I had a lovely celebration with my extended family in Sydney. I'm very thankful to so many people who helped make this a reality, especially my beautiful wife Larissa.
