If you’ve walked near Battleston Hill recently, you may have spotted the tall Paulownia fortunei Fast Blue ('Minfast'). Its lilac-blue flowers can be seen from afar but just take a look at the delicate detail seen up close here. Plan your visit at rhs.org.uk/wisley.

This is the last chance to see Cupressus lusitanica (now Hesperocyparis lusitanica). The great tree-man, Alan Mitchell, considered this to be Silwood's finest tree. It is the County Champion of Berkshire in the Tree Register. It is to be felled to make way for new housing.
