The Loop's Rector Building, located at 79 W. Monroe St., received a final landmark recommendation from the Landmarks Commission today. The 1905 building is planned to undergo a $64 million renovation to convert office space into residences and restore key architectural features.

As emperor, while renovating his palace, he thought the craftsmen were charging too much for the ivory handles on the bell ropes. He cut one off and had a boy go see how much they cost in the market. When he found out it was a third cheaper, he cut the bill by that amount.

The 1980s Wendy’s restaurant dining room was 1/3rd sunroom and it was iconic and actually brought in staying customer who spent more per visit than any other fast food restaurant, especially with the soup and potato bar. New management made sure they conformed to mediocrity.
