Medford wins it 3-0. Win will certainly help in seeding 12 days from now. Also keeps the Raiders in the GNC title conversation for at least another day with rematch at first-place Mosinee coming up tomorrow.

A busy Tuesday night in Gilman included a team victory for the girls and second-place finish for the boys in the Pirates’ home track invite, a 17-3 baseball loss to Columbus Catholic and two five-inning losses to Columbus in softball.

In Phillips today, the Rib Lake softball team had a chance to clinch outright Marawood North title, but the Loggers had other ideas. They score three in bottom of the 6th to win it 6-5. Redmen still have two chances to clinch next week against Chequamegon.

In baseball Rib Lake surprisingly found itself down 5-3 after one inning against Phillips. Redmen had no trouble after that, winning 26-6.

It was the trifecta for Rib Lake in Phillips today with the track and field teams also here.

A quality win for Gilman’s baseball team today. Two days after losing to Columbus Catholic 17-3, the Pirates rally from a 10-5 fourth-inning deficit and beat the host Dons 12-11.

So far at both versions of Raider Field. The girls soccer team and Barron Co-op tied 1-1 at the half. Wausau West holding a 3-2 lead over Medford Raiders Baseball in bottom of the third inning.

Update. Kodi Rappe goal gives Medford Raiders a 2-1 soccer lead. Hayden Strebig with a two-out RBI triple. Baseball game tied 3-3 going to the fourth.

Soccer final: Barron Co-op 5, Medford Raiders 2. Bears go off for four goals in second half. Kasey Stauner scores four of their five. Layla Petersen and Kodi Rappe with Medford’s goals. Raiders host Pines Tuesday.

Also in round one, the host Gilman Pirates cruise past Lake Holcombe-Cornell 10-0. They’ll get Drummond at 2 p.m.

In the first round of Gilman’s Slamfest, Medford Raiders Softball survives an 8-inning thriller with Edgar 5-4. Rylee Hraby with the go-ahead two-run double and pitches out of a major jam in the bottom half. Medford gets D3 #1 Grantsburg at 2 p.m.

Pirates close out their day with an 11-2 win over Drummond. Been a long last 23 hours of softball for Gilman, who outlasted Loyal-Greenwood 20-19 in a marathon game yesterday.

Good GNC baseball game so far today at Raider Field. Hayden Strebig with an RBi single in the fifth pulls Medford Raiders Baseball into a 2-2 tie with Tomahawk.

Single by Nicholas Arndt plus E7 scores two in the top of the 6th. Tomahawk leads Medford 4-2 mid-6th.

As tennis duals go, it’s a big one tonight at RHS as the Hodags host Medford w/ the lead in the GNC entering the conference tourney on the line. Hodags will be in 1st with any sort of win tonight. Medford & Rhinelander tied w/ 4-3 Raider win. Medford leads w/ 5-2 win or better

At Raider Field tonight, Northland Pines got up 2-0 in the first four minutes but the Medford Raiders have fought back and tied the Eagles in girls soccer 2-2 on a Bayley Metz goal at 50:58.

Final: Medford Raiders 3, Northland Pines 2. Complete reversal from first game when Pines rallied from 2-0 down. At 76:13, Medford pushes one through Eagles D and Kodi Rappe gets to it and scores the game winner.

In GNC golf today at Lakeland, Medford Raiders finish 7th at 378. Lakeland and Mosinee tie for first at 323. Lakeland still holds a commanding lead in team standings.

Both Rib Lake teams clinch Marawood North title shares today. Baseball beats Chequamegon 5-1 with a five-run 6th. Softball wins 9-5 over Screaming Eagles. Both teams aim to clinch outright titles Thursday at Chequamegon.
