Expect to see some of this at the Agricology farm walk. May be somewhat wilted by 5th June! ☀️ but still plenty to talk about. Places are limited so sign up now.

Interesting seeing #organic winter oats under an oak tree thrive vs in field suffering massively from the #drought25. Years of leaf litter and shade must be helping - does make me wonder about #agroforestry 🌾 🌳 🌾

70% of UK land is farmed. If we want nature to recover, this is where it happens. Farmers like James Rebanks are already doing it – farming with wildlife, not against it. But without proper funding, we risk losing it all. Rachel Reeves: increase funding, grow our future.

Thanks Paul great to host you and everyone yesterday, with Agricology we were lucky to dodge the showers! A few alterations to the subsoiler are coming thanks to Sustainable Soil Management.

Min-tilled winter linseed attempt has turned into an interesting bi-crop experiment. Volunteer oats looking very healthy 🌾 . Will see how it compares with the nice clean ploughed field next door…#organicfarming #intercropping

Living mulch looking much better after some good rain, panicle emergence was 2 weeks behind the mono-crop - pictures today vs 27th May. Oats a bit short for combining! #livingmulch #organicfarming

Cutting the #organic living mulch trial yesterday. Definitely a yield penalty again, but not as bad as I was expecting considering the total lack of moisture. ☘️ just about hanging in there

Sunset cutting #organic rye yesterday. Great crop for our soils and drought conditions. Just wish we could grow more of it…🌾

2 weeks post harvest and the #livingmulch hasn’t grown back that fast despite the rain. We saw this last year and suggests the ☘️ loses a serious amount of vigour by yr3. Could be easier to establish a cereal in this if we were retaining. Check out Agricology guide for more
