Our Salts mathematicians have been developing strong foundations for a successful year! We created and learned how to use math resource binders, practiced turn and talks to share different ways to solve the same problem, and identified ourselves as "math people" Samantha Claveau

We're very proud of Samantha Claveau's eagerness to grow her practice at Salts! A very successful launch to math workshop in 8th grade today, to make sure all of our students get what they need to grow, be engaged and be challenged! Desmos Desmos Classroom #wearesalem

Mrs. Gianelli's 4th graders tried the Information Gap Math Language Routine! Can you identify missing information in a math context to answer your own questions? Our fourth graders can tell you how! They can also now tell you the weight of many different types of baby animals!

Waiting to put away addition materials, students decided to measure each other with number paths! A great reminder that students are naturally curious about the math around them! Thank you Mrs. Grundy for fostering the flexible use of math tools to explore the world around us!

Our K,1,2 students at Salts celebrated the 100th day today in many ways! Some standards-focused activities were grouping tens to make hundreds crowns and posters in K/1, and building regrouping 100’s towers in 2nd grade!

Our 7/8 students at Sats showed their PRIDE and leadership skills to lead the K/1/2 students in their 100th day parade they once marched in themselves. They Counted by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to lead the parade in both English and Spanish!

Saltonstall wrapped up our “Math Days” in grades 3-8 today to rally excitement for math in the final stretch to MCAS. Students worked on many engaging standards-focused activities and teachers of all subjects contributed to fun days of learning for our students!
