Schizophrenia is an illness although psychosis is a spectrum. A 1/3 of people. diagnosed have a chronic deteriorating prognosis - originally called dementia praecox (1880!). If one has ever treated chronic schizophrenia then no way can you doubt that it is an illness. #donoharm
