This morning, I'll be standing in solidarity with UNITE HERE Local 26 workers striking for fair wages and the contract they deserve. Because in Massachusetts, Labor Day isn’t a day we take off – it's a day we take action.

Workers cheated out of fair pay, protections and benefits they deserve aren't the only ones who suffer – so do taxpayers and businesses playing by the rules.   I'm re-launching the Council on the Underground Economy to crack down on employer fraud and employee misclassification.

Ralph de la Torre lived in luxury at the expense of workers and patients at Steward hospitals. His refusal to testify before the Senate is shameful, but it’s not shocking. The people of Massachusetts deserve answers. He must be held accountable.

Federal grants helped keep the child care sector afloat during COVID, but parents and providers were struggling long before the pandemic began. Massachusetts is the only state to fully sustain those grants with state funds — supporting over 250K children and adding 10K more
