Today in the Nebraska Section PGA Jim White made 5 birdies at a section event. He shot 68 and beat Ryan Vermeer, who has over 120 wins in the NE Section. Jim White is 72 years old. And yes, he played the same tees.

The barren beauty of Ballyneal - this Doak dreamscape on high plains of Colorado takes the Sand Hills concept of austere design to its pleasant extreme, as this loop through the Chop Hills is no-frills great golf over rugged, wild dunes at 3,700 feet. I adore this place.

An hour of weather at Ballyneal. Scary clouds turned to hail and rain so fierce, we had to turn over a bench and hide under it. A few minutes later, our stupidity was rewarded with a gorgeous rainbow and shortly after that, beautiful sunny skies. A wild day on a wild golf course.
