When cancer takes over your life, the only thing that gets you through treatment is knowing that there is an end to the many challenges that consistently test you in ways you’d never imagine. #CassandraDiMaria deserves better. #stage4 #cancercantwait

It takes courage to do the right thing when you have nothing to gain and a lot to lose. Thank you #NeilYoung and #JoniMitchell You make us better. Neil Young Joni Mitchell

Wave 5 has broken many of us, including HCWs. Cancelling clinics and being told to hide one's identity only adds to the burnout and moral distress many feel. This is the time for leaders to stand with the healers, instead of asking us to accommodate those who may target us.

Shout out to everyone in Ontario's education system - students, education workers, admin, Boards etc - for getting through another week. Thank you for all you do. You are so appreciated. #onted

COVID-related public health measures will be lifted. Not all at once & at different paces in different provinces. Senior political & public health leadership across the country have clearly stated this. Lifting these measures is best driven by local data rather than ideology.

I've treated >200 patients with COVID and seen >50 die. Dr. Moore seems to be implying that they could have protected themselves by doing their own "risk assessment." I don't even know what that means.

A year ago I was recovering from breast cancer surgery. I saved a rose from each bouquet I received while recovering, and continued keeping a rose if I received flowers from a friend or family member. These roses remind me of friendship, healing, and hope. Thankful.@BCSC

We can see what's coming. It is wiser to proactively maintain reasonable safety measures like masking in schools, vs. re-introducing precautions reactively only once healthcare system level stress forces action.

One agency charges our ICU $105/h/RN. In Sept 2021 they charged $64.50/h/RN. This 62.8% rate increase = extra cost per shift of $455.62. Agency RNs cover 15-20 shifts per week Extra cost for one ICU ~$7-9K/week or ~$355-473K/year. Price gouging will bankrupt public healthcare

Nearly every hospital in Ontario close the majority of their ORs after 4 pm and on weekends. Why do we need IHFs and private hospitals to perform day surgeries (no overnight stay) which can draw staff from public hospitals? Capacity in the public system exists.

Excellent article. "If the government wishes to improve education, it can spend more on teachers and reduce class sizes. That’s a fine way to make space for learning that will pay all sorts of dividends to a free and democratic society." #onpoli tvo.org/article/educat…

I haven't seen a year-end tweet explicitly thanking EAs, ECEs and all the support staff who helped us all survive (and thrive) this year, so let's do that! 👍 Please retweet to show ❤️ #OntEd
