(1/9)I use social media often and aspire to play volleyball at the collegiate level. Questionnaires and bios only give you a small glimpse of who a person is. The recruiting process is all about getting to know someone, and I want to tell my story

(2/9)I’m obsessed with sports in general but I have grown a great love for volleyball. I come from a basketball and track family. So growing up I mainly participated in youth basketball and track.

(6/9)I earned a spot on the all district team that year and received academic honors. Under my coaches encouragement I tried out for a club with a regional travel team and earned a spot as a starting outside hitter for TexStar.

(5/9)My first high school coach Casey Cavasos would stay late for me to get in extra reps and mentored me by helping me bridge the gap of my athleticism and the knowledge of how to think and strategically play the game .

(3/9) I didn’t gather an interest in volleyball until my 7th grade year. I played for my school during the year and participated in a camp that caught the eye of a club coach. I tried out for Swing a local club team and earned a spot as a middle.

(8/9)That summer I participated in college and local camps and continued to attend my schools summer workouts to grow as a player. I’m now in my junior year and I've been challenged to take on a new role as a leader to the younger players while become more of a complete player.

(7/9)My sophomore year I returned to the varsity team, but now as an outside under a new coach I made all district and earned academic honors again. I played for TexStar again that year and under the encouragement of my coaches I transitioned to the position of an opposite.

(4/9)From that moment on I knew volleyball is what I wanted to play at the next level so I have been on a mission to make that happen. I came into high school volleyball hoping to make JV but earned a spot on varsity as a starting middle by showing my athleticism and work ethic.

Absolutely blessed to be able to receive these awards at the Tidehaven 2023-2024 Athletic Banquet to end off my Junior season. Also incredibly blessed to be announced Female and Male athlete of the year with my cousin Joseph Dodds!🫶🏾

After a great visit to Angelo State University, I am blessed to receive my first offer to continue my academic and volleyball career! Thank you Coach Waddington for showing me around and allowing me to practice with the team. Angelo State Volleyball Chuck Waddington Angelo State
