People have a lot of bias when it comes to who provides care in rural America. Many of those same people have never stepped foot in a truly rural critical access hospital. And those same people are too often who decide what happens to patients living in rural areas.

Finally read “Being Mortal” after a couple years of being told it’s a book every doctor should read. I’m still reflecting on it, but it’s solidified some of how I want to frame death and dying as I continue medical school.
