this man is going to attempt to pretend he was against the genocide all along with absolutely no reckoning for the tripe he’s spent the last 1.5 years vomiting out. i do not think that he should be able to do that

It's "as if Israel's media policy is less about defending Israel ... and more to convince the audience that truth and fact don't really exist if it comes from Palestinian sources."

Analytical Marxism started out as “no-bullshit Marxism,” trying to produce only claims that were rationally assessable and empirically sensitive. I was always critical of how it tried to do that, but now it has descended to pure bullshit — completely truth insensitive blather.

It's been "complete madness" in Gaza since day 1 of the war. I think what this reveals is that Biden served as a brake on Europe acting more forcefully by insisting that only "no daylight" support for Israel could improve the situation. With Trump, that pretense is gone.

William Clare Roberts 🇵🇸 (@marxinhell) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This was always the rational hope for a Trump presidency — that with him in charge, Europe would rediscover an ability to act independently against Israel.

It should be easy to say "assassinating diplomats is wrong" without pretending to believe that assassinating these diplomats, at this moment, must be an act of anti-Semitism. Lehi did not kill Folke Bernadotte because they hated the Swedes.

Tim Barker (@_timbarker) 's Twitter Profile Photo

People should not be killed for their political views. Civilian spokesmen for war criminals should not be killed hors de combat. But if the Lebanese equivalent of Lischinsky had been killed in pager attack, US + Israeli media would have deemed him a legitimate Hezbollah target.

Tim Barker (@_timbarker) 's Twitter Profile Photo

yeah what if Israel attacked Palestinian diplomats? it's never happened before but it's worth thinking through the counterfactual here.

William Clare Roberts 🇵🇸 (@marxinhell) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I agree that this attack plays into the hands of Israel. I also think we will see more like it, for the simple reason that mass action has had no effect on US policy, much less on the actual genocide. Desperate people, horrified by the genocide, will do desperate things.

It's key to understand that Washington does not understand the shooting as an American murdering foreign government officials for political reasons. They understand it as Palestinians bewitching someone to murder a couple that could easily have been working in U.S. politics.

"Gaza, nothing's impossible." Yaqeen Hammad was killed today. Here, she describes how she made this contraption to cook despite Israel's cutting off of gas. May you be a bird in paradise, Yaqeen.

Christopher Lasch has finally found his ultimate historical purpose: to help an author condescend about thousands upon thousands of murdered martyrs.

As ever, this is not a secret shame that enterprising journalists have uncovered. The IDF very vocally admits this is a standard part of their ROE. It’s in their manuals. These articles are from a year ago.

Tweeting like a state: A pose suggesting that everything said or done by anyone (esp. and activist group) ought to take the form of a legislative act enforced by a competent Weberian state.
