As a molecular biologist, my worst fear come true last night. 6 yo asked “how our body parts are made. Like, how do the arms and fingers know where to go?” She’s interested in developmental biology. Parents, talk to your kids about Wnt signaling before it’s too late.

Maybe this is why women scientists get eliminated from academia. I wish good luck to all my female faculty friends who are racing within their tenure clock. The system prefers and love male faculty. You have to be at least 10x better, just to survive, let alone winning.
