One thing I’ve noticed since I moved to Toulouse, is that I use social media way less. But I am not alone. Look at these pictures I took near my house. How many phones do you see? My hypothesis is that the virtual space may be a substitute for bad urban spaces, not good ones.

Check this out! We study whether co-location with foreign-owned MNEs is beneficial for start-ups. In a nutshell: (1) yes, when start-ups and MNEs are in related sectors, and no, when they are in the same sector; (2) not for young start-ups, but it gets better as start-ups age
